If needed, we will climb trees/ buildings and wade through flood waters just to come up with new, unique and creative perspectives that you will love. Don’t worry, this is normal! Most people hate having their photos taken because they do not like the unnatural and awkward looks they have on camera when told to smile and pose for a picture. During your wedding day, we make sure that we become invisible as we take photos of moments as they are happening during the event. The only time people actually notice us is when we take family portraits. And, even during those times, we make sure that it is fun, laid-back and natural. We minimize the “scripted” photos and only highlight the authentic actions of the people that are part of the photos.

To be honest, we find it more interesting to shoot photos when things don’t go as planned! We will keep our cameras rolling and continue telling the story of your wedding day as it unfolds. This keeps the shoot interesting, exciting and not your ordinary traditional wedding. Torrential rain, crazy wind storms, flooding, dark rain clouds, light drizzle, extreme heat —— we have shot in it all! Whatever you decide to do during the wedding - such as switching venues to something indoor or moving to a smaller space —— we will shoot that too! We will still show the magic of your wedding day no matter what happens!

First of all, let’s start with what you don’t receive: a couple thousand “so-so-average” photos and “duplicates” that you don’t need to see anymore. For us, quality is giving you a couple hundred photos that delivers that “OMG” and “WOW” factor. Photos that truly embody the actual feelings of everyone that was part of the event. In this case, less is definitely more! On average, our couples usually get around 700-1000 photos depending on how big the celebration was. That is still a lot of memories to look back on!

We always love to WOW you with a few snapshots of your special day within a few weeks of your wedding. But, as the old saying goes, “The best things in life come to those who wait”. Our creative commitment to you extends beyond the day of your wedding. Normally, it takes us around 12 weeks to master your images artistically, curate your web gallery, create your slideshow, and design your wedding album (which arrives 6-8 weeks after your approval of the final design).

Traditional wedding portraits and group shots aren't usually our main focus. However, we are more than happy to take a few group photos or portraits if the couple wants them.

While classic posed portraits aren't the priority for documentary photographers, we still capture portraits throughout the wedding. These "documentary portraits" preserve traditional portraiture, but they’re taken naturally, without direction or interference from the photographer.

How much coverage you want on your wedding day is completely up to you. But capturing the "getting ready" moments can be more valuable than it first seems.

For us, it's not just about getting dressed—it's about the anticipation, the connections, and the relationships with family and friends around you. While some wedding photographers might see this time as just a chance for portraits, we in Kelaya focus on the sense of community that makes it so special.

It's not necessary to have these moments captured (some couples choose not to), but it can be a great way to document the bonds you share with the people closest to you. Plus, it’s a good chance to get comfortable with the cameras before the big moments later in the day.
